Employability
Employability is at the centre of academic curriculum planning at Brit College. Employability is defined as increasing the development of students vocationally through appropriate academic education, enhancement of employability skills (such as CV writing and interview skills) and experience of employment and careers opportunities through links with local businesses and industries.
Our approach is to enable students to develop attributes that can be beneficial to themselves when seeking employment as well as benefitting local and wider communities in terms of an expanded employment pool of skilled workers as well as economic benefits.
Employability Forum
Employability has been incorporated as a key aspect of Brit College Strategic planning since 2015 and is one of the College’s core operational themes. To support employability we have established an Employability Forum which hosts regular talks, workshops and master classes by local businessmen and women and also organises careers advice sessions, visits to local employers and business skills training for students.
These forum events enable students to gain new perspectives on career options, develop local contacts, enhance relevant employability skills and in some cases even gain work experience or actual jobs.
